Terms of Use

1) Agreement
By downloading, installing, or using Mira, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Mira.
2) Who can use Mira
You must be able to form a legally binding agreement where you live. If you’re using Mira on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
3) License to use Mira
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Mira for your personal or internal business use, according to the plan you purchased (if applicable).
4) Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after updates means you accept the updated Terms.

Privacy Notice

1) Local-first by default
Mira is designed to run locally. By default, Mira does not require a cloud account, and your conversations are generated on your machine using a local model runtime (such as Ollama).
2) Ask-first memory
Mira only stores memory when you explicitly approve it. You can view, delete, export, or wipe memory. Mira should not store passwords, private keys, or highly sensitive secrets.
3) Network behavior
By default, Mira’s local server binds to 127.0.0.1 (localhost) and is not exposed to your LAN. If you change network settings, you are responsible for securing your device and network.
4) Optional online features (if added later)
If we add optional online features (e.g., backup), they will be opt-in and clearly labeled. Online features will never be silently enabled without your consent.

Acceptable Use

1) Use Mira responsibly
You agree not to use Mira for unlawful activities, harassment, exploitation, or harm. You are responsible for how you apply Mira’s outputs.
2) No abuse or security testing without permission
Do not attempt to bypass security controls, reverse engineer protected components, or probe our systems without explicit written permission (except where prohibited by law).
3) Data packs and integrity
If Mira verifies packs by manifest + hash, you agree not to tamper with packs or distribution files. We may disable packs that fail verification.

Disclaimers

1) Mira can be wrong
Mira may generate incorrect, incomplete, or misleading output. Do not rely on Mira for professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions). Always verify important information.
2) No warranties
Mira is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, except where prohibited by law.
3) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Mira and its creators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

Refunds

Refund policy (placeholder)
Refund terms depend on your purchase method (website checkout, marketplace, etc.). For launch, we recommend a simple policy (example): refunds within 14 days if the product cannot be made to work on a supported machine, after basic troubleshooting.

For questions, contact support@mirakindred.com.

IP & Licenses

1) Mira software
Mira and its branding are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant a license to use Mira, not ownership of Mira’s code or trademarks.
2) Third-party components
Mira may rely on third-party tools (for example, a local model runtime). Those tools are governed by their own licenses and terms.
3) Your content
You retain rights to content you create. You are responsible for the legality of any content you input or generate, and for how you use it.
